Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 13, 2026

MindBento is operated by MindBento Inc. (マインドベント株式会社). This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

What We Collect

  • Content you publish: Items, channels, and bento metadata you create via our API.
  • API keys: Generated when you create a bento. Used for authentication.
  • Browser cookies: Session data when you use the /keys page to access private content. No tracking cookies.
  • Server logs: IP addresses, request timestamps, and user agents for security and abuse prevention.
  • Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, which collects no personal data and uses no cookies.

What We Don't Collect

  • We don't require email addresses, names, or personal information to create a bento.
  • We don't use tracking cookies or third-party ad trackers.
  • We don't sell data to anyone.

Public vs Private

Public content (public bentos and channels) is visible to everyone, indexed by search engines, and available via RSS feeds and sitemaps.

Private content (private bentos and private channels) is accessible only with the correct API key. We do not access, read, or analyze private content except as required by law or to maintain the service.

How We Use Data

  • To operate and improve the service
  • To prevent abuse (rate limiting, content moderation)
  • To respond to legal requests

Data Retention

Your content is stored as long as your bento exists. Delete your bento via the API to remove all associated data. Server logs are retained for 30 days.

Your Rights

Under Japanese law (個人情報保護法 / APPI) and applicable international privacy laws, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Contact us at privacy@mindbento.com.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with an updated date.
