OnePlus 15 Review: This is Not Normal!

MKBHD reviews the OnePlus 15: a spec-overkill flagship with a serious camera regression that undercuts an otherwise exceptional package.

• OnePlus 15 ships with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (4.6 GHz, 20-40% faster than predecessor) plus custom G2 Wi-Fi chip and dedicated 3200 Hz touch response chip.
• 7,300 mAh silicon carbon battery delivers 7-8 hours screen-on time; limiting charge to 85% still beats Galaxy S25 Ultra’s total capacity.
• Ceramic-coated finish (micro-arc oxidation) rates 8-9 on Mohs scale — scratches from bag contents wipe off because the phone scratches other materials, not vice versa.
• IP66 + IP68 + IP69K certified: survives high-pressure 80°C water jets, a first for OnePlus which historically skipped IP certification to cut costs.
• 165 Hz display refresh is gated to a short list of supported games (CoD, Clash of Clans, Real Racing 3); everyday use stays at 120 Hz.
• Primary camera sensor is the same unit used in the $400 Honor 200, producing excess noise in medium light and dull colors — a clear downgrade from OnePlus 13.
• Hasselblad partnership is effectively dead: logo, orange shutter button, and XPAN mode all removed.
• Priced at $899 (12 GB RAM) or $999 (16 GB LPDDR5X Ultra Plus RAM).
